I’m quite impressed with this fan. The whole thing is chromed metal except for the two control knobs and the height adjustment knob. The assembly was very straightforward, though the instructions seemed to be out of date and referred to things that were different to the version of the fan that I had. That wasn’t a problem for me since the assembly was so simple you could do it without the instructions at all.

The fan is very powerful and I can feel its effect right across my 24 foot living room, even on the lowest power setting. So yes, it’s powerful. I particularity like the speed control knob which is both chunky and simple. The osculation angle is very wide, probably being closer to 180 degrees than 90 degrees and is virtually silent (usually with plastic fans they creak and groan when they osculate, but this one being all metal, doesn’t). The base is big and heavy so nothing is going to knock this sucker over.

It could probably do with a slightly longer power cable though. It comes out of the fan motor housing rather than the base so two-thirds of its length is taken up by just trailing to the ground. It’s a perfectly useable length, but you’ll need an extension lead if you want to place the fan more than a metre or so from a power socket.

    Definitely a good buy.
